Sophie Turner In Negotiations To Play Lara Croft In Tomb Raider Amazon Series
Emmy-winning Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Amazon Series Tomb Raider is negotiating with Sophie Turner to star as Lara Croft in Prime Video’s high-profile series adaptation of the video game franchise, but Amazon MGM Studios has yet to comment.

Previously played on the big screen by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, several actresses auditioned for the role of Lara Croft, including the Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner.
Amazon MGM head Jennifer Salke called the new series “epic” when she announced the series in May.
An Emmy nominee for her first significant role on Game of Thrones as Sansa Stark, Turner currently headlines the British crime drama limited series Joan.
Represented by CAA, Independent Talent, and Hansen Jacobson Teller, Turner’s next role for Prime Video, distributor of the Tomb Raider series, is in another British show, Haven.
Deadline reported that the new Tomb Raider series is produced by Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios.
Executive produced by rights holders Legendary Television as well as Crystal Dynamics in collaboration with Waller-Bridge with Jenny Robins through Wells Street Productions, Dmitri M. Johnson through dj2 Entertainment, and Michael Scheel, consulting producers Amanda Greenblatt and Ryan Andolina also features under their Star Party banner.
A passion project for writer/executive producer Waller-Bridge, the role of Lara Croft is pivotal and Waller Bridge spoke fondly of the title character, saying, “Lara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many.” She said she can’t wait to go on this adventure.
