Three Broadway Shows to Celebrate the Oregon Cabaret Theater’s 40th Anniversary in 2025

ASHLAND, Ore. —  As the year heads to a close, the Oregon Cabaret Theater (OCT) has announced the program for its 40th anniversary year, featuring three recent Broadway hits.

The 2025 season begins on January 24, 2025, and will celebrate the OCT’s 40th year of entertaining Rogue Valley residents.

 

The OCT 2025 Program

January 24 – March 30: “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder.”

The winner of four Tony Awards, this musical comedy received Tony accolades for Best Musical, Direction of a Musical, Book of a Musical, and Costume Design of a Musical.

 

April 11 – June 15: ‘Waitress.’

This Broadway musical made history for having four women in its top creative spots – composer Sara Bareilles, book writer Jessie Nelson, director Diane Paulus, and choreographer Lorin Latarro. The winner of four Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score, “Waitress” ran for 1,544 regular performances.

 

June 27 – September 7: ‘Disaster’

A jukebox musical comedy, ‘Disaster’ is about a group of New Yorkers who, on a floating casino and discotheque, experience multiple disasters including tidal waves and infernos.

 

The other two productions scheduled for 2025 are:

September 19 – November 9: ‘Murder for Two.’

A musical whodunit, this show stars only two actors, one a policeman investigating a murder, and the other role plays all the suspects and other characters.

 

The OCT will end the year with a production of:

The Nutcracker and the Mouse King’ from November 21 to December 31.

A novella fairy tale written in 1816 by Prussian author ETA Hoffmann, the production tells the story of a girl who befriends a nutcracker and comes to life on Christmas Eve to wage war against the evil Mouse King.

 

OCT Subscriptions Go on Sale Today

The OCT offers three types of subscriptions.

  1. VIP includes all five evening shows.
  2. Matinee includes all five afternoon shows.
  3. Mini includes any three evening shows.

Overview

Theatergoers can watch an OCT production in a historic and intimate building while enjoying a meal and drinks served at their tables during performances. The cost is not included in the ticket price.

The OCT specializes in musicals, comedies, and whodunits and is one block from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival at the corner of First and Hargadine, Ashland.
