William Frombach of Medford Will Appear in Court on December 12 in Connection with last Friday’s Murder
MEDFORD, Ore. — William Carl Frombach Jr. of Medford is in custody without bail following the murder of Devery Allen Bynam and the attempted murder of Elizabeth Hadley last Friday.
Frombach (45) appeared in the Jackson County Court yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon when a public defender was assigned to his case. The arraignment was postponed to December 12, 2024, after the public defender requested a continuance. Frombach was not asked to plea.
Judge Paul Moser sent Frombach back to the Jackson County Jail, where he has been detained since the murder, without setting bail.
Victim Found Dead on the Scene with a Gunshot Wound
Frombach was arrested by Central Point Police after the deadly shooting when officers found a 42-year-old victim dead on the scene from a gunshot wound. The shooting occurred at about 7.30 a.m. at the 300 block of South 4th Street in Central Point.
Female Victim is in a Critical Condition
Central Point Police Department (CPPD) officers then heard about a second shooting in the 500 block of Bush Street, about four blocks from the murder scene. Police found a seriously injured female victim in a vehicle in Bush Street.
She was transported to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in a critical condition.
CPPD officers, together with reinforcements from the Oregon State Police, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Medford Police Department, arrested a male suspect at about 8 a.m. in Central Point in the 1000 block of North 5th Street. He was walking and unaccompanied.
Suspect has a Criminal Record of 22 Charges
Frombach’s criminal career began when he was 21 and police records show that he has 22 criminal charges dating to 2000. The charges involve driving violations, DUII, attempting to elude a police officer, and failing to register a vehicle.
In late 2000, Frombach was convicted of a felony, followed in 2003 with a criminal charge of a felon in possession of a firearm. A criminal drug charge for possession of methamphetamine followed in 2016.
In 2017, Frombach was found guilty of the unauthorized use of a vehicle that he was accused of stealing in Jacksonville and then trying to escape police by breaking through a locked and gated fence in a north Medford parking lot.
Frombach was again convicted in 2020 in connection with a robbery and possession of a restricted weapon.
