Winter Warmth for Ashland Residents Who Qualify for Discounts on Energy Bills
ASHLAND, Ore. — There is winter warmth on the horizon for qualifying residents of Ashland following the City Council’s decision to reintroduce its low-income energy assistance program to reduce the cost of utility bills.
Seniors and the disabled may qualify for 50% discounts on their bills for six months, while discounts of 50% for three months may apply to other eligible residents.
The City Council has set a ceiling of $300 as the maximum credit for any qualifying resident.
The Ashland Low Income Energy Assistance Program (ALIEP) is for residents with an income of 65 percent below the median income of the state and is determined by household size and income.

Applications for energy bill assistance can be made via an online form or by calling 541 552 2038. Income verification must be provided and applications for the program close next year on January 31.
